Assistant Harbour Master
Morvern Community Trading Company (MCTC), the community owned business that runs the Lochaline Harbour, Lochaline Filling Station and other enterprises for the community are recruiting.
MCTC needs an Assistant Harbour Master to join the team for 2017 and beyond.
The post is part time with flexible hours. The hours worked will depend on how busy the pontoons are and the current Harbour Masters commitments. You will be required to work with the existing team on a rota to ensure the pontoons are always covered.
You will be required to work a minimum of one day a week with a split shift and be responsible for the duty mobile overnight on some days. There will be periods over the season when one Harbour Master is away and you will be required to be available to work during these periods.
We are looking for someone who is flexible, positive, has high standards, has good inter personnel skills and has a real interest in adding to the growth and success of the pontoons and other local projects. Going the extra mile for our customers is second nature to you.
Your duties will include helping boats onto the pontoons, answering questions about the locality, collecting berthing fees, empting the bins, driving the buggy, answering calls to the duty mobile etc and also assisting with the operation of the petrol pumps.
Ideally you will live in Morvern and have some experience with boats. However, being willing to learn is more important as training will be given. You must have a clean driving license.
Pay: £ 9.00 per hour.
