Mine Museum feasibility study meeting, June 22
FEASIBILITY STUDY MEETING
Lochaline Village Hall Friday 22 June 2018
Drop-in session between 3 and 5.30pm Presentation and discussion @ 7pm Everybody welcome! All ideas welcome!
Lochaline Sand Mine is unique. It is one of only two working underground mines in Scotland, and it is the only underground sand mine in Europe. Since the mine opened in 1940 it has had a huge influence on Lochaline and its people. We have identified the need to preserve some of the history of the mine, and we want to give people the opportunity to learn about the mine. With grant money from the Morvern Community Trust and Historic Environment Scotland we are currently investigating whether it is possible to set up a mine museum/heritage centre in Lochaline. To be able to do this, we need you. So please come to either the drop-in session or the evening discussion. For more information contact Veronique Walraven on firstname.lastname@example.org
