Ardtornish land use consultation summer 2018
Ardtornish was notified three years ago that many of the sites here designated for exceptional nature conservation interest are in unfavourable condition and declining. The main reason was the impact of grazing animals.
So we decided to commission an ecological survey of Ardtornish, to scope out options for future management. I attach a summary of the report and its conclusions.
We are keen to consult widely on these conclusions, before deciding which to implement and when – so would be very grateful to hear from you with any thoughts you may have on what we should do.
If you are able to spare the time to read this summary and let us know your thoughts, we would be very much obliged. Responses would be particularly appreciated by the end of September. Details of how to respond are given in the report. If you would like a printed version, it is available from the office at Ardtornish, Loch Aline Harbour Office, and Lochaline Stores.
