The Morvern Community Woodlands Company was started by local volunteers in 2002 to bring local woodlands back into management for community benefit, to run public events and training courses, to provide woodland education and recreation opportunities, and to promote woodland and timber-related skills within the community. Membership is a one-off payment of £2.

The Highlight in the Morvern Calendar, Morvern Games & Gala Week starts with Morvern Games (Highland Games and Sports for all ages), held the 2nd Saturday following the first Monday in July, and is followed by a week full of events and activities, with fun for all, such as Regatta Day, Great Morvern Run, Indoor Bowls, Quiz Night, Duck Race, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Guided Walks, Ceilidh night, Producers’ Market, Bingo. The society was established for the benefit of all inhabitants of Morvern, Scotland, and all interested parties or individuals; to educate and provide information concerning Morvern’s cultural, historical, archaeological and natural heritage; to promote an interest in and increased understanding of that heritage.
