MCDC purchased these woodlands for the community in 2003, from the Forestry Commission with a grant from the Scottish Community Land Fund. MCDC worked with the Movern Community Council, Morvern Woodlands Project, the Forestry Commission and DTAS to construct a picnic site, car park and view point on the site.

Morvern Woodlands Project assisted MCDC with timber felling, hazel coppice management, footpath construction and maintenance and further development opportunities.
