Breaking Ground on Affordable Housing!

Morvern Community Development Company (MCDC) are thrilled to be moving into the next phase of delivering a long term community priority—more housing in Morvern. Angus Robertson, chair of MCDC, commented that “we are keenly aware of how long affordable housing has been a top priority for the local community (as emphasised in Live Life Morvern and our Local Place Plan) and are delighted to be able to deliver these homes which will be available for affordable rent to people wanting to live and work in Morvern.” MCDC will be building 14 two and three bedroom homes on the housing site opposite Lochaline primary school and these homes will be available for affordable rent in 2027. The site has now been cleared with thanks to local contractors and some of the initial electrical work has been completed. Some of the trees were planned to be retained but unfortunately these were all damaged in the recent storms and had to be removed for safety reasons. There is still woodchip available to anyone from the community who would like it. It is available to take away at your own risk on a first come, first serve basis.
