We're Hiring A Harbour Master!

Morvern Community Trading Company (MCTC) are recruiting a full time Harbour Master to join our busy team to run the community marina facility in Lochaline. 

Lochaline Harbour sits within the sheltered and popular anchorage of Lochaline on the Sound of Mull. We have up to 30 visitor berths in our pontoons and 10 swinging moorings. Our highly rated shore facilities include the harbour office, showers, toilets, laundry facilities and Wi-Fi. We have ambitious plans to grow our facilities in the coming years and look to recruit someone who can not only continue the excellent standard of safety and service we currently provide to visitors and locals but also work with us to expand our facilities into something truly exceptional. 

We pride ourselves on making visitors feel that Lochaline Harbour is a home from home and somewhere they want to return to again and again. It is also important to us that Lochaline Harbour is enjoyed by the local community, and we have built good relationships with the Morvern Watersports Club and with Caolas and their native oyster project. The Harbour Master is also responsible for managing our community fuel pumps. 

Person Specification: We are looking for someone who is flexible, positive, practical, with high safety standards and excellent interpersonal skills. Working as part of the team and going the extra mile for our customers and community is second nature to you. 

Ideally, you will live in Morvern, be easily reachable in an emergency and have good experience with boats and general maintenance but paid training is available if required. You must have a full driving license. It is a full-time role working 5 days a week (including some weekends and evenings) on rotation. The salary is £13.40 per hour plus holidays and a company pension.
